Overview

The project involves regeneration of the infrastructure of 1,200,000 sq.m (120 hectares) unplanned areas in Makkah. The project is located on the western part of Makkah and stretches from the Makkah Gateway at the junction of the Jeddah Highway and the Third Ring Road. The project is 3.65 kilometers long and 320 meters wide, covering approximately 1.2 million square meters. The project includes a large ring road and bus rapid transit station. The new city development will have 100,000 residential units, hotels and apartments, and 28,000 hotel rooms, alongside commercial and recreational areas as well as a new mosque. 

Masar is one of the most prominent model development projects seeking to serve Makkah residents, visitors, and pilgrims. It also strives to fulfill the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to increase the number of Umrah pilgrims to 30 million by the year 2030 and improve the quality of life for Makkah residents and visitors.
